~~This program full.~~
Join us for this day with Fr. Richard Rohr (internationally known retreat director, speaker and writer) as he shares with us on themes from his recent book The Naked Now; Learning to See as the Mystics See. Fr. Richard will explore with us his belief that contemplation, long believed to be accessible only to monks and mystics, is actually available to all who embark on the journey to a deeper prayer and life in God. Contemplation, being present to the ‘now moment’...is an exercise in ‘keeping your heart and mind spaces open long enough for the mind to see other hidden material’. It is content with the naked now and waits for futures given by God and grace.*
Fr. Richard will also look at the question of mysticism, it’s place in our christian tradition, inviting us to “See as the Mystics See,” as…The great mystics of every tradition invite us to ‘know better’, to draw from the resources of our own tradition and see in a way that honors debate, reason, and order while also moving beyond them. Can we answer the mystics’ invitation? Can we begin to attain the mystical gaze?*
