Celebrate Christmas at Nazareth

How is your book club, women's guild, study group, church board or other group planning to celebrate Christmas this year? It's a bit early to be thinking about Christmas, but I'd like to plant a seed before the holiday busyness starts and invite you to Nazareth.

Allow us at Transformations to make your life easier and forgo finding a restaurant with a room to meet, making arrangements at church, cleaning your home or preparing a dish to pass. Nazareth is the perfect environment for celebration and reflection on the true meaning of Christmas.

We can provide a lovely setting, a fine meal, and let you focus on the important task of really being present to one another.  No cooking, no cleaning, no hauling, no kidding! If you'd like, we can provide your group with a tour that includes the beautiful Holy Family Chapel and the Holy Stairs.

Transformations and the Congregation of St. Joseph are an ecumenical retreat center and welcome guests from all faiths.

For more information, please contact Barb Gourley at info@transformationscenter.org or 269-381-6290 ext. 310. We look forward to helping your group celebrate the true reason for the season.

Sincerely,
Michele Gossman, Director

Art Gallery - Pen Dragons, calligraphy
Be sure to see the Pen Dragons' work during your next visit to Transformations. It is on display in the Art Gallery through the end of November.
The Art Gallery is located in the ground floor Center Walk outside the Day, Merton and Romero conference rooms.

Pen Dragons Calligraphy Guild is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the study, appreciation and practice of calligraphy as an art form, and to foster a wider appreciation of calligraphy in all its historical and present day applications through the free interchange of ideas and techniques. We encourage individual growth and excellence in calligraphy.

The choice of texts in this exhibit was kept open to the individual artists, but viewers will notice many pieces with religious and inspirational themes. Calligraphers love lettering and artistic composition, but they also love the written word. Being able to bring a text to life through the calligraphic arts is what all lettering artists strive for.

Pen Dragons Calligraphy Guild is open to all interested people and encompasses a wide range of skills from novice to professional. Our guild includes teachers, historians, poets, watercolorists, banner and quilt makers, graphic artists, book binders, papermakers, scrapbookers, and printmakers, united by a common interest in handwritten letterforms. We work on paper primarily, but also work on fabric, wood, metal, stone, glass and ceramics using tools that include hand-cut quills, brushes, steel and reed pens, pencils, markers, even computer scanners.
