Your Next Meeting @ Transformations

Calling All Educators!

School halls and classrooms are reminders of the work to be done. Start the 2009-2010 school year right with an off-site team planning session.

Your teachers and staff will appreciate the air-conditioning in our neutral facility in a natural setting. While the organizers appreciate the ease of having rooms already set-up and pre-arranged meals and snacks on-site. The free parking is very convenient and access is barrier free. Meeting rooms range from $70-150 for a full day and box lunches are $6.25 per person.

Take advantage of the surroundings too. The day's curriculum could include team building at the labyrinth, brainstorming in the circle of trees, or a stretching break on the walking trails. Some past groups have also included yoga and spiritual reflection led by members of the Transformations team.

Words from Past Educator Retreat Participants
"I loved the retreat! It was one of the most relaxing days I've ever had...honestly. I can lay around at home, watch tv, and think that is relaxing but this beat laying around by far. :)"  -4/5th Grade Teacher

"I really appreciated the warmth, caring and hospitality of both staff and residents. It all worked out very well for us and I'm glad that we're going to be able to come back again in August."

"I thoroughly enjoyed the entire day.  I was bummed that we could not go outside as I wanted to walk the labyrinth."  -3rd grade teacher

Art Gallery - Meet the Artist - Jean Flowers
Sample of Jean Flower's ArtworkPAINTING THE INVISIBLE

For years I painted visible images of the earth and sky as viewed in my every day world here on earth.  My subject matter was composed and rendered with time honored art principles and techniques passed down over the ages by other artists schooled in the Western civilization mind set.

Three years ago I was introduced to the Far Eastern tradition of painting sacred icons as practiced in the Eastern Orthodox Christian churches.  I was drawn to this mystical approach to painting, and for a time struggled with this very unfamiliar approach to painting.

Through it all I gradually absorbed its' discipline and technique, and am incorporating it into my more recent art endeavors.  It has enriched my being toward a greater awareness of that biggest holy mystery...the Creator of us all.

Several of the paintings in this exhibit were composed under the guidance of several different instructors who are very skilled in the tradition of icon painting.  The subject matter is rather familiar images painted in the traditional manner.  My newer compositions are ones composed through fertile imagination after added insights and spiritual growth.

Hopefully, the viewer of this show will absorb, enjoy, and hopefully gain some added information and insight into their own spiritual quest. Most of the works in this show were painted with acrylic paint on specially prepared panels for icon painting.  The big painting of The Cosmic Christ is painted in oils on a pure linen canvas surface.  The garden angel series have also been painted in oils.
